Hola! My name is Mayra Zamora from Corpus Christi, Texas. I am an award-winning Artist, Educator, Muralist, y mucho, mucho mas!

Mayra Zamora was born in Austin and raised in the small town of Tivoli, Texas. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Art and Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi. Zamora is a freelance artist, allowing her to work as an Education Specialist for Early Childhood Developmental Center and Art Instructor for K Space Contemporary. Zamora was recently awarded Young Alumnus by TAMU-CC, La Estrella Award in Arts & Humanities by the Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas, and more. Zamora’s current body of work is a devotion to the fundamentals of art and her love for her Mexican heritage. Zamora focuses on what she considers the most important elements of art: Line, Shape, & Color; while incorporating Mexican-American iconography. Zamora murals are inspired by Pre-Columbian and Modern Art, they are a kaleidoscope of color and includes her Black & White artist codex; allowing the viewer to become an active participant in decoding her work.
