Hola! My name is Mayra Zamora from Corpus Christi, Texas. I am an award-winning Artist, Educator, Muralist, y mucho, mucho mas!

Mayra Zamora is an award-winning Chicana Artist, Muralist, and Educator from Corpus Christi, Texas. Zamora was born in Austin and raised in the small town of Tivoli, Texas. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Art and Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi. Zamora is a freelance artist allowing her to work with local non-profit organizations in her city.


Zamora was recently honored by the Corpus Christi Westside Business Association for her artwork and community involvement. Zamora's accolades include Young Alumnus by TAMU-CC, Best Fine Arts Painter by The Bend Magazine, La Estrella Award in Arts & Humanities by the Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas, and more. Zamora has created artwork for Whataburger, Stripes Convenience Stores, Laredo Taco Company, and K Space Contemporary, amongst others. Zamora has participated in exhibitions in Texas, New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, and much more.


Zamora’s current body of work is a devotion to the fundamentals of art and her love for her Mexican heritage. Zamora focuses on what she considers the most important elements of art: Line, Shape, & Color; while incorporating Mexican-American iconography. Zamora’s artwork is inspired by Pre-Columbian and Modern Art, they are a kaleidoscope of color and often includes her Black & White artist codex; allowing the viewer to become an active participant in decoding her work.
